What is a PhD about?
If you are new to PhD life, this workshop is definitely for you. Join Dr. Cathy Craig, Senior Psychology Lecturer, as she provides an introduction to being a PhD student covering such topics as time management, motivation, preparing for teaching, and getting your head around marking.

Final Year PhD Panel Discussion
After lunch, a panel of final year PhD students will provide a question and answer session for delegates.

Background
One of 24 discipline-based centres within the Higher Education Academy, the Psychology Network supported the teaching and learning of psychology across the UK between 2004 and 2011. A core team, based at the University of York, worked with students, staff, departments, professional bodies and overseas organisations to develop supportive networks and to improve the learning experience of psychology students in Higher Education.
