The Psychology Network supported inclusive psychology learning and teaching

The Higher Education Academy Psychology Network provided a range of materials and resources relating to all aspects of inclusion. These included information about the Improving Provision for Disabled Psychology Students (IPDPS) project, which provided case studies from disabled psychology students, graduates and staff.

Our guide to Inclusive Practice within Psychology Higher Education is available as a complete pdf or in individual sections, offering advice for academics and departments on aspects of inclusive psychology teaching. Extracts from psychology students’ experiences are included where appropriate, and each section includes practical advice for inclusive planning to improve accessibility for all students.

Our eight inclusion e-bulletins provided focused, targeted, bite-sized advice and guidance on providing a more inclusive experience for all students, including links to key resources and good practice information.

The mental health page provided case studies and links relating to mental health and the teaching of mental health in psychology.

Our inclusive technology page highlighted key developments in inclusive technology.

Background
One of 24 discipline-based centres within the Higher Education Academy, the Psychology Network supported the teaching and learning of psychology across the UK between 2004 and 2011. A core team, based at the University of York, worked with students, staff, departments, professional bodies and overseas organisations to develop supportive networks and to improve the learning experience of psychology students in Higher Education.
