PLAT Journal

A peer-reviewed journal to support the scholarship of psychology learning and teaching

The Psychology Learning and Teaching (PLAT) international journal aims to inform and encourage good practice in the teaching and learning of psychology and cognate disciplines at all levels.

The PLAT journal Opens new window is managed by the University of York and published by Symposium Journals Opens new window as an online-only journal. Authors are able to deposit additional materials that relate to their papers, for example, videos, podcasts and datasets; together with their short biographies. Each published paper has a unique digital object identifier (DOI) enabling consistent and sustained online access. PLAT journal is published three times a year.

PLAT Journal is now listed with Scopus.

Background
One of 24 discipline-based centres within the Higher Education Academy, the Psychology Network supported the teaching and learning of psychology across the UK between 2004 and 2011. A core team, based at the University of York, worked with students, staff, departments, professional bodies and overseas organisations to develop supportive networks and to improve the learning experience of psychology students in Higher Education.
